Haute Tots

I have always preferred the bright and punchy colors of spring and summer over their fall and winter counterparts.  Especially when it comes to children's clothing.  Last week I received Cade's first Crewcuts order in the mail!  I had been waiting for this moment since we found out we were having a boy, way back when.  In my opinion they have the most comfortable and stylish options for little boys. I especially love this one "Beast of the Deep."  Too cute!

Fiesta!

I am brimming over in anticipation of the upcoming, and much needed, girls weekend.  We are all dear friends from our college days and each with busy chaotic lives.  As we grow older and our families and responsibilities grow bigger, it is becoming increasingly difficult to get together.  So, this weekend we will rejuvenate those friendships, poolside, with a drink in each hand!  Always in favor of adding a theme to any party, I will be channelling these lovely ladies and might be sporting one {or more} of these fiesta inspired goodies.

Entertain Me

Gardens in May burst with magnificent color.  Why not take advantage of Mother Nature's handiwork and host a garden party this Memorial Day weekend.  Take a break from the traditional, yet always fun, pool party and dazzle your friends and family with a whimsical backyard soiree.  Create a menu using fresh produce from your local farmer's market for a dinner as beautiful as your surroundings.

Pin of the Week

Although we are transitioning from nursery to big girl room with Vivi and have no plans to decorate another nursery anytime soon, I could not help but swoon over the design of this room.  Talk about the modern traditionalist.  Shelli, from a la mode maven, curated the perfect balance through the use of graphic fabrics and timeless silhouettes.  I love how elegant the baby clothes look in the gold leaf frames, darling!  See more of this room at Baby Lifestyles.

Twin Beds

A childhood friend of mine had two twin beds in her room when we were growing up and I always loved the look and functionality of it.  When my husband's aunt asked if we were interested in the twin beds she was no longer using I had to jump at her offer.  And when I saw them in person I was head over heals.  Today, we had those very beds installed in Vivi's room and her baby bed removed.  Sleeping arrangements around here are about to get interesting.

Pin of the Week

I stumbled upon this street style image, originally blogged by whippedStyle, while browsing through Pinterest this week and cannot get her casual cool summer vibe off my mind.  The juxtaposition of the eyelet dress and the rough denim vest works so well!  You better believe I will be adding these items to my summer wish list, especially those sunnies!  And I couldn't resist throwing in that darling Juicy eyelet dress for the littlest fashionista too.

Kitchens: the Custom Refrigerator

As a self professed shopaholic, I pretty much love any excuse to go shopping.  Except when I unexpectedly must buy appliances.  Like a refrigerator.  Maybe one day that shopping trip will be an exciting one.  Custom refrigerator cabinetry makes me swoon.  It connects the kitchen with the rest of the house by bringing in elements that mirror real furniture.  And I love the use of exquisite hardware on all the following pieces.
This may be my favorite kitchen ever.  The designer, Michelle Allman, attended to every detail and created a luxurious and comfortable space.  I love the flame stitch fabric on the bar stools, all of the custom cabinetry, and of course that range is to die for!

Balloons

Last week I received an e-mail from my sweet friend, Katie, asking about the DIY Geronimo balloons I made for Cade's first birthday party.  As I was writing back to her, I got to thinking about how the wave of the round balloon has catapulted balloon decor from blah to brilliant.  Round balloons have yet to hit the big party stores, but you can find them online and at smaller specialty party and printable boutiques.  Hope you are inspired to use round balloons at your next event!

A single balloon by the sign in table or gift table makes a quick statement.
Four 17 inch balloons side by side adds height to this monochromatic sweets table.
Attach string to the balloons at different lengths for interest.
A cluster of round balloons looks much more whimsical and elegant than a cluster of standard balloons.
Balloons and table numbers attached to low profile floral arrangements create a canopy effect in this outdoor setting.
Multi-colored ribbon and tassels make a statement, and a fun toy.  Creating DIY Geronimo balloons is surprisingly easy!
I love the whimsical look of this hot air balloon inspired centerpiece and think it would be just as lovely with a large round ballon weighted down by the flowers.
Beautiful use of the wedding colors in the Geronimo balloon tassels.
I love the balloons, paired with the papered boxes, and the chair covers.  How magical!
DIY Geronimo balloons make great centerpieces, and the candy anchors are sweet for this Bat Mitzvah.  Imagine them with coordinating florals, over the top beautiful!
