Haute Tots

I have always preferred the bright and punchy colors of spring and summer over their fall and winter counterparts.  Especially when it comes to children's clothing.  Last week I received Cade's first Crewcuts order in the mail!  I had been waiting for this moment since we found out we were having a boy, way back when.  In my opinion they have the most comfortable and stylish options for little boys. I especially love this one "Beast of the Deep."  Too cute!

Fiesta!

I am brimming over in anticipation of the upcoming, and much needed, girls weekend.  We are all dear friends from our college days and each with busy chaotic lives.  As we grow older and our families and responsibilities grow bigger, it is becoming increasingly difficult to get together.  So, this weekend we will rejuvenate those friendships, poolside, with a drink in each hand!  Always in favor of adding a theme to any party, I will be channelling these lovely ladies and might be sporting one {or more} of these fiesta inspired goodies.

Pin of the Week

I stumbled upon this street style image, originally blogged by whippedStyle, while browsing through Pinterest this week and cannot get her casual cool summer vibe off my mind.  The juxtaposition of the eyelet dress and the rough denim vest works so well!  You better believe I will be adding these items to my summer wish list, especially those sunnies!  And I couldn't resist throwing in that darling Juicy eyelet dress for the littlest fashionista too.

Haute Tots: Seattle Addition

To celebrate New Year's we took a trip up to Seattle and the Pacific Northwest to visit my family and see old friends.  Our trip was full of day trips and quiet nights at home enjoying delicious home cooked meals.   While we were visiting, I had the idea to start this new series.  I love to dress my kids.  I shop for them more than I shop for myself.  What is it about miniature clothes that is so darn cute.  Haute Tots was born to document some of the cuter outfits that have come around, hope you enjoy!

Tangerine Tango: 2012 Pantone Color of the Year

Pantone named tangerine tango  the official color of 2012 this week.  An unexpected but fresh and modern color choice.  Pantone described it as exotic and friendly, and I couldn't agree more.  For another fresh take on the newest color of the year, head over to The House of Turquoise where Erin rounds up her favorite orange and turquoise combos.

Mrs. Fabs Baby Faves

1.  Everyone loves Sophie the Giraffe, but I had mixed reviews with my daughter when she was teething.  Cade began to show signs of teething right around when Sophie the Giraffe So'Pure Vanilla Teether came onto the market, so I decided to give it a try.  We love it!  The smaller size is great for little hands.  I like to keep it in the refrigerator for a little extra soothing power.

2.  Some babies prefer soft fabric to sooth their aching gums and Angel Dear Blankies are the perfect solution.  The blankets are super soft, come in a variety of colors, and feature a number of animals.  Nubs on the four corners and running down the back are popular chewing spots.  Sometimes I will soak the nubs and put the blanket in the freezer when the little man is super grouchy.

3.  On those extra drooley days, when your baby is spouting spit like a fountain, reach for Green Sprouts Waterproof Absorbent Terry Bibs.  There are a number of color options and while the exterior is soft on your babies sensitive skin, the interior keeps your child's clothes dry.

4.  If your baby is anything like mine, and attracted to all of your pretty dangly jewelry you have got to get your hands on a Chew Beads Jane Necklace.  Made from 100% silicone, the beads are non-toxic and safe on those sweet little teeth and gums.   Not to mention they look great with day to day outfits.  Even my toddler wants to wear them!

5.  Vivi loved the Lifefactory Multi Sensory Teether.  Also made from 100% silicone, this teething ring is easy to hold and has different patterns for little mouths to explore.

6.  Hyland's Teething Tablets are a safe and all natural way to relieve your baby's pain from teething.  We use these very often and provide relief most of the time.  But if your baby has all 4 front top teeth coming in at once turn to trusty infant acetaminophen, and be sure to check proper dosage, as guidelines have recently changed!

7.  I love the entire line of Angel Deal baby clothes, particularly this sweet Angel Dear Urban Coverall in grey and blue stripes.

8.  We have never used wooden teethers but I love the idea.  The Little Alouette Wood Teether Giraffe, is a sweet and eco-friendly option.

The hunt for the perfect phone cover is never easy.  Lets face it, our phones are basically an extension of ourselves.  The market for iPhone covers is ever expanding and with all the choices available finding the perfect one to fit your style can be quite the task.  Our phones say a lot about us, why not make a statement?  I snagged this little gem from JCrew a while ago, but just now found it available online.  I love the casual leopard print, definitely not too high maintenance and it adds a little oomph to any outfit.   You can find this phone cover and various other patterns in stores or online jcrew.com.

I also have to give a little shout out and thank you to Fabulous Florida Mommy for making the JCrew catalog available online.  Check out the November catalog here.  It baffles me that they removed it from the site.  One can only hope that they are in the process of making it even better, maybe similar to the super easy to shop option that Nordstrom has?!

What a whirlwind ride this World Series has been!  We are huge Texas Rangers supporters and have been on the edge of our seats this whole series, hoping and praying that the boys from Texas can get it done.  Tonight we will anxiously watch, it will be a high stress evening indeed!  Hopefully they will get it done and bring the World Series Trophy home to Arlington.  In honor of our beloved Rangers, my fab find of the week, are the sweetest crocheted baby janes from the Etsy shop Sweet Hearts and Soles.  They would be so precious on your littlest Rangers fan.  Of course I had to complete the outfit with some sweet basics from Baby Gap.  Perfect game day attire!

Falling For...

I have never been more excited to welcome in my favorite season.  After a record breaking summer  of 100 days of 100+ degree weather and our town being named the hottest place in the country (read: the worst place to live), most everyone I know is welcoming fall with open arms.  While the temperatures here continue to be in the upper 80s, I am completely smitten with all things fall.  Right now I am falling for: mums and pumpkins, dark nails, fall fragrances, and pumpkin spice (nothing says fall to me than a hot pumpkin spice latte on a crisp fall morning!)...

The Paris Wife

I just finished reading The Paris Wife by Paula McLain, and couldn't help but caught up in the glamour of 1920s Paris.  I found myself immersed in the tragic beauty of the era, longing to join the characters for a cocktail at a Paris cafe.  What an interesting place to be, living a bohemian lifestyle, jetting off on European vacations for weeks on end.

The Paris Wife inspired my BHLDN moodboard for the giveaway hosted by blogger Joy at oh joy!  She has partnered with BHLDN and is giving away a beautiful outfit, perfect for any summer event.  Visit oh joy! to enter the giveaway by 9am tomorrow!

High vs. Low: Summer Black Tie

Summer wedding season is in full swing.  I have my second of the summer this weekend in San Antonio for my sweet friend Lisa from our days at TCU.  With all of the incoming invitations and upcoming bashes I can't help but fantasize about the perfect ensemble.  Often it is challenging to pull together a similar look on a budget.  This high vs. low for a summer black tie event still looks like you spent the money, but is checking account friendly!
